Fresh running water. Medicine. Electricity. These are just a few of the things you won't find in Ouanaminthe, a village situated in the northeast corner of Haiti. But there is something you will find in abundance: hope. This project is all about nourishing that hope, with tangible goals like finishing a school, paying teachers, building a clinic and staffing it with a nurse. More than anything, the children of this impoverished region need to see better things on the horizon, a day when they can be healthy, educated and self-sufficient. Sometimes the way out of the mud and desperation of poverty can start with things as basic as a solid floor beneath your feet or a regular ration of rice and beans. It might seem like a long way out, but, in Ouanaminthe, just a little goes a long way.
